Manny Hernandez's Woodworking Gallery

Stepstool: Made this for my five year old daughter. It's made from Cherry and Wenge. I used Tried and True brand oil finish with a sand texture added to the steps for better traction. I've made about four of these, for various family members.

Beer Table: It started life as a prototype for a table that now resides with a relative. I used all handtools to make it except for rough dimensioning and routing the channel for the inlay. Being that it was a proto I used various species of wood. The top and front stretchers are Madrone; the legs are Poplar colored with a dark mahogany stain; the side stretchers are Pine colored with a dark mahogany stain. I usually finish my projects with clear finishes so they retain a natural look. This is the first time I've ventured into stain finishes. I learned that it can run when adding the topcoat. Must be a compatibility thing. This is the reason it became my "Beer Table" and now resides next to my favorite chair.

Mirror: This mirror came about after taking a class on constructing bent laminations. Each side is two laminations attached back to back to form the legs.
